The Bells University Parents Forum (BUPF), the association of Parents and Guardians who have their wards in Bells University of Technology, Ota, and the Management of the University, organized a seminar titled “Parenting in Tertiary Education in the 21st Century”.
The Seminar held on Wednesday, 20 March, 2013 by 10.30 am; at the Main Auditorium, NECA Complex, Opposite Afrika Shrine, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos State.
The Seminar was facilitated by selected Discussants, and aimed at educating as well as providing new approaches to parenting and encouraging Parents on their commitments to their children and their roles as Parents. The thrust was to get Parents to partner with the University Management, through such interactions like this, in promoting better values in the society.
The Chairman of the occasion was the Vice-Chancellor, Bells University of Technology, Ota, Professor Isaac Adebayo Adeyemi. A host of Discussants presented papers on related topics, which was be led by the Lead Discussant, Mr. Kevin Ejiofor, Former Director-General, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).
Other Discussants were, Barrister. (Mrs.) Ekanem Solomon, Assistant Secretary, BUPF, representing parents; Professor Iyiola Fawole, Dean, College of Natural and Applied Sciences (COLNAS) and Chairman, Hall Management Committee, Bellstech, representing University Hall Administration; and Miss Oluwabamike Olawumi, 400L student, Bellstech, representing the students.
